Themes vary each month, providing a fun opportunity to learn new skills and techniques. Artventures is offered the third Saturday of each month from 1 – 2:30pm


September 16 | Prairie & Forest Collage

With inspiration from the exciting colours and layers in the exhibit The Prairies, the Maritimes and a Few Lakes by artist Ken HouseGo, we’ll lead you through an afternoon of artistic fun! Including printing and stenciling leaves on wood, your collage will be your masterpiece. Join this fun class for ages 6-12. Advance registration required. All materials included.

October 21 | Drips, drops & dots inside paintings

With inspiration from the exciting colours and layers in the exhibit Inside Painting by artist Peter Ivens, experience the energy of the creative process. We’ll lead you through an afternoon of artistic fun! Including washes, drips and dots to create your masterpiece. Join this fun class for ages 6-12. Advance registration required. All materials included.

November 18 | Into the Wild

Explore the role of spirit animals, taking a cue from the artwork by artist Terry McCue to create your own personal animal and landscape. Learn how to use chalk pastels on black canvas sheets to create your favourite animal and its environment. Explore using pastels and a variety of blending tools to create your personal masterpiece. Join this fun class for ages 6-12. Advance registration required. All materials included
