Through demonstration and hands-on learning, explore the basics of Mishima, silk screening, underglaze transfers, carving, rice paper transfers, Mod Podge water wash, stamping, wet form alteration and more. Serious clay enthusiasts will love this workshop to expand their skills and learn some new techniques in decorating their wheel thrown and hand-built pieces. Stretch your creative muscles to learn fabulous techniques in hand-building and wheel- throwing on Friday, followed by creative exploration of decorative techniques on Saturday. Bring your favorite tools, including small paint brushes, metal rib, stamps, cutters, sprig molds, etc. Instructor: Kentia Naud
Prerequisite: being able to form a mug from raw clay, either hand building or throwing.
Depending on skill level, it is anticipated that participants will make up to 3 mugs in this hands-on learning workshop. Projects will be bisque fired, and then clear glazed, with project pick up available at the Art Gallery of St. Albert (#100, 6D Perron Street) in 2 – 3 weeks following the workshop. Notification will be sent when projects are ready for pick up.
