Black Artifex is a collaboration between artist Tanya Klimp and designer/architect Darcy Fraser Macdonald. Tanya and Darcy met while completing their undergraduate degrees at the University of Alberta and are now happily married with two kids.
Savvy and ambitious designers, Tanya and Darcy have proven their skill through numerous public and private art murals and installations. Often their designs boast images of local birds, animals, trees, and flora. The wood-burned designs featured on Black Artifex elegant kitchen tools are adapted from the massive mural they created and installed at the Whitemud Equine Centre in 2017 called ‘Heart of the Valley’.
