Jessica Sanderson-Barry is from James Smith Cree Nation, Treaty Six Territory. She started beading in high school and, over time, has learned different beading techniques from knowledge keepers and other Artists. Jessica loves to use elements from the land such as hides, traditional home tanned elk hide, porcupine quills, animal bone and shells. She believes that beading is a connection to her late grandmothers; her feather collections are all named after her grandmothers and grandfather. Similarly, each JShine jewelry collection pays homage to her ancestors who all contributed to Jessica’s life and her journey.
JShine Designs is 100% Indigenous owned and focuses on handmade jewelry and accessories.
