Rachelle LeBlanc’s interest in pottery was sparked by her love of sculpture. She holds a degree in Fashion Design and Technique from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario, and works as a full-time visual artist in the medium of rug-hooking. In her primary visual arts practice, she creates two and three-dimensional rug-hooked pieces that she exhibits across North America. For Rachelle, exploring functional and sculptural ceramics is a way to take a break from her hectic schedule and find inspiration in a new medium. Her rustic wheel-thrown dishes feature unique glaze textures and earthy blue-green hues—a testament to Rachelle’s great eye for colour.
