Margaret’s interest in clay started at an early age when she would dig up clay in her backyard and sculpt little animals, then bake them in the sun.
After moving to St. Albert in 1987, she took two courses with the St. Albert Potters Guild. Shortly after, Margaret joined the Potters Guild and her passion for clay took off.
Margaret is inspired by her surroundings, especially nature, musical themes, and her faith. Margaret says of her work: “I am struck by how rewarding it is to take messy, ugly clay that comes from the earth and transform it into a piece of art that may be beautiful and utilitarian. How awesome is that!”
