Philanthropists of the Year

Congratulations to Doug and Barbara Ritzen, recently named Philanthropists of the Year by the City of St Albert.

Doug and Barbara Ritzen were early contributors to the building of the Train Station at the St Albert Grain Elevator Park in 2005 and 2006. The opening of the Train Station allowed us to open the grain elevators to the public on a seasonal basis, and was a factor that led to the restoration of these provincially designated buildings in 2010 and 2011. Since the Train Station opened there have been over 41,000 visitors to the site, a number that continues to grow each year with successful community events and school field trips.

Thank you Doug and Barbara for your generous support and lasting impact!
