Kris Johnson, the founder and artist of Paper Methods Jewelry, is a painter with a BFA from the University of Alberta. Each piece of paper jewelry is hand-made, so each creation is truly unique. Johnson first molds the paper into the desired form using silver plated wire, and then carefully coats them using a method of decoupage. Many thin layers of tissue paper are layered on top and coated with an acrylic paint mixture. As a result, the finished pieces-including bright paper lantern earrings and moon shaped earrings-are light, elegant and very durable.
